How do I Activate a Trial or Evaluation
After installation, you must enter the activation key received at the time of purchase. When prompted with the trial period notification, you must click the “Add Key Code” button and enter your activation key exactly* as is written on your purchase confirmation email. This will overwrite the trial key and activate PC Backup 10.
* Make sure to include the hyphens and use the number “0” not the letter “O”.
What user account do I specify in the Schedule Options?
In PC Backup 10 you are able to specify the user account to run the scheduled backup job. This change is only necessary for certain types of backups, particularly scheduled backup jobs involving network paths. For any other types of backups these fields can be left blank and PC Backup 10 will run the backup with the Local System Settings.
When filling out these fields, the domain name is typically the name of your computer. The user name field should be filled with a different user other than the user account currently in use. The password is the password of the user account being logged in as.
What are the supported Raid Controllers for Disaster Recovery?
PC Backup 10 supports RAID 0 and 1 hardware. Supported hardware RAID is defined as IDE, SATA, or SCSI controller add-on cards attached by means of a motherboard’s ISA, PCI, or SCSI expansion slots.
PC Backup 10 hardware RAID support depends on the availability of Windows and Linux drivers on your system. As PC Backup 10 images or clones your hard drive within Windows, they use RAID drivers within your Windows operating system. However, as they restore your system from complete backups, incremental backups, or system snapshots, they boot into a Linux-based pre-OS area and then use Linux DMRAID to support hardware RAID. If you’re not using RAID, but have an active RAID controller, we recommend that you disable or uninstall the controller.
